16. 2 One of the biggest problems immigrant students have in school is getting help from teachers. This is because teachers are very busy, and do not always have extra time to help students who need it. Also, immigrant students have problems becoming part of the new school because many of the other students have no tolerance for people who do not speak English well. Bullying becomes a tremendous problem. These problems make it hard for immigrant students to feel loyalty to their new school. Then it is harder for them to learn. 3 All students in school should succeed. Teachers must show leadership and find ways to give extra help to students learning English. This means teamwork. Teachers should take turns tutoring students at lunch or after school. Furthermore, bullying must stop. All students in the school community must take responsibility for making sure people are treated with respect and kindness.
