19. Setting Up the PIPES u DBMS_PIPES are an Oracle Feature (package). Banner uses this feature for Job Submission. They must be started for prerequisite checking, though. u DBMS_PIPES for CAPP AREA PRE-REQs. Set-up of pipes. n 1. To start the pipes, the DBA must run SFRPINI. n 2. SFRPIPE is the process to start the pipes; it cannot be run alone; it is invoked by SFRPINI.

20. Setting Up the PIPES (Cont) u SFRPINI will start SFRPIPE for each record in the SFBPIPE table. u The SFBPIPE table was delivered with ten pipes. u You probably will need to change the number of pipes running depending on volume and system capabilities.
