2 What is an eLecture? eLectures are described as „interactive television“ by the Online Campus in Austria. They are webinars using Adobe Connect.

3 More and more teachers are taking advantage of the eLecture programme. The CLS with the support of the Online Campus began offering eLectures in 2013. We now have a staff member dedicated to CLS webinars.

4 The CLS eLecture programme has grown from 18 webinars in 2014/15 to approx. 10 per month in 2015/16. Teams also attend the webinars together. The focus is on instructional development for the New Middle School reform.

5 Evidence-based criteria for effective professional development 1.starts with the end in mind. 2.challenges thinking as part of changing practice 3.is based on the assessment of individual and school needs 4.connects work-based learning and external expertise 5.strongly enhanced by collaborative learning and joint practice development 6.enhanced by inter- and intra-school professional learning communities 7.requires leadership to create the necessary conditions Stoll, L., Harris, A., & Handscomb, G. 17 Evaluation Although the impact of the embedded webinars on student engagement and achievement is of central interest, these factors can only be evaluated indirectly by surveying the teachers because there is a lack of tools, data and resources for before-after comparisons. Photos NMS Weer
