Project “Surfing the Sea” and its relationship with the sea Project “Surfing the Sea”

What are renewable energies All of the energies that are capable of regenarating themselfs and aren’t poluentes are called renewable energies. Since these energies are reneable they are virtually inexhaustible.

Project “Surfing the Sea” Wind energy- Wind energy is the energy produced by wind, or by using the kinetic energy generated by air currents.

Project “Surfing the Sea” Solar energy- Solar energy is that energy produced by sunlight, can be captured by solar panels. It is a source of life and origin of most other forms of energy on Earth.

Project “Surfing the Sea” Hydric energy- Hydric energy is energy that is produced at dams or is the energy that is derived from the movement of waves, the tides or the temperature difference between the levels of sea water.

Project “Surfing the Sea” Why are renewable energies important They are inexhaustible as opposed to fossil fuels, limited. Their environmental impact is less than that caused by sources of energy derived from fossil fuels (coal, oil and gas), it does not produce carbon dioxide or other greenhouse "gases." They also offer less risk than nuclear power. They give energy independence to a country, since its use is not dependent on imported fossil fuels (only available in some regions).

Project “Surfing the Sea” Why is the sea important

Project “Surfing the Sea” The importance in wind energy During the day the land heats up more quickly under the influence of the sun. The air rises and flows to the sea, creating a depression in the ground level which attracts the cold air fom the sea. This is called a sea breeze. Usually in the evening there is a period of time when the soil and sea temperatures are equal.

Project “Surfing the Sea” During the night the winds blow in the opposite direction, and the land breeze usually lowers it speed, since the difference between the temperature of the sea and the land is smaller. All these difrences of temperature are what creates wind.

Project “Surfing the Sea” The importance in solar energy Since the earth is mostly coverd by the ocean, the sun rays reflect in the water and go back to our athmosphere which by consequence heats up the earth and reflects more light.

Project “Surfing the Sea” The importance in hydric energy The sea and the ocean are the reason why we have hydric energy. The energy of the sea, oceans and rivers can be stored in several ways like using dams for example.

Project “Surfing the Sea” The mission of all of us is to ensure that this energies can continue inexhaustible. To do that we have to preserve our world by trying to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels and give way for the renewable energies.
