Other countries like Germany, France and England haven’t taken antyside, but we can all be sure The Great Powers won’t let the things slip just like that. For more information turn to page 17. 20 June 1915 We have received countless offers so far. It’s important for both sides to recruit us, so they make promises for everything they can think of. The government is still leading negotiations, but I think it won’t take them much to decide which side should we take… Ivanov

18 November 1915 The enemy fear us. The Antente saw the class of our army and in a British newspaper it had been said that they regret letting us join the Central Powers. With its past experience from the Balkan wars, the Bulgarian army is well equipped and has many trainned veterans. That’s our advantage and we have to use it! Ivanov

7 May 1916 Just a few minutes ago the telegraph announced that Romania has signed the Treaty of Bucharest, which gave us only control over Dobrudga. There are masses of people down the streets blaming the government for not defending the political positions of the country. Ivanov

OUR ARMY – UNSTOPABLE? 27 August 1916 Good news from the front. It seems like our army keeps marching inside the enemy’s territory. No matter the casualties we give, our troops keep advancing forward. After finishing the Struma operation and the Battle of Lerin, the front spreads from Greece to Macedonia and north Serbia. Our army still hasn’t lost a battle flag and it seems that it’s going to stay this way till the end of the war. For more information turn to page 2.

IS ROMANIA REALLY AN ENEMY??? Not more than five months after Romania joined the War against Bulgaria, the Bulgarian army itself has wiped out Romania. Starting with Dobrudga on 2 nd of September 1916, Bulgaria caused a lot of casualties to the Romanian army, making it flee back to Bucharest. Not long after returning Dobrudga back to the Kingdom’s borders, our army invaded Romanian territory and occupied the enemy capital. A day after, the Bulgarian army passed in a winning parade in the streets of Bucharest. THE DAILY NEWS THE WORLD’S FAVOURITE NEWSPAPER - Since 1879

THE BATTLE OF DOYRAN Another example of the Bulgarian heroism, proving once again the big experience our army has. Today, 16 th of September 1918, the Bulgarian army crushed the allied forces near Doyran. Pretending to be dead after the British soldiers bombarded the Bulgarian camp with pure chlorine, our troops had let the enemy pass through them. Not long after the enemy passed, our troops made an ambush and attacked them from behind. Giving a very low amount of casualties, our troops crushed the enemy and took their battle flags. This is a heroic victory and we should all be proud of it! For more information turn to page 17. The daily news The worlds oldest newspaper - Since 1802

28 November 1919 A disaster! A total disaster happened yesterday. Our Prime Minister Alexander Stamboliysky has signed the Treaty of Neuilly, by which our country is forced to pay reparations at the cost of 2,25 million golden franks. Our country had been cut into pieces, as each of our neighbours took something for themselves. Our army count had been lowered to a maximum of 33 000, including the police. Where are we going to find all these money? What are we going to do now?Ivanov
