2 1. Summary of Symposium 2. Organizing Committee 3. Scientific Program 4. Function Room Floor Plan 5. Sponsorship Program CONTENTS 6. Sponsorship Application Introduction of KASL Annual Meeting

3 Why to Attend? The KASL consists of a group of medical doctors and scholars in the fields of internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, radiology, pathology, laboratory medicine, and radiation oncology, who treat and/or study liver diseases. At present it has about 1,100members, each playing an active part. Since 1995, the KASL has convened its annual meeting in spring and the Seoul International Liver Symposium(SILS) attended by a number of prominent domestic and foreign scholars in autumn. As a result, the KASL, despite its short history, is ever developing in its academic results and capability. In 2011, the KASL will consolidates its annual meeting and the SILS into one event as an international academic conference on liver diseases with internationally celebrated scholars invited on a large scale along with about 1,100participants. This is to lay the foundation of collaborative research into ways of fighting, through international exchange and cooperation, against liver diseases which pose as a matter of great concern to the public not only in Korea but in the eastern Asian region. To update and exchange knowledge of chronic hepatitis B and C, alcoholic liver disease, hepatic fibrosis, issues on liver enzymes, end-stage liver disease, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, through attendance and global networking. To stimulate an exchange of ideas by hearing the experts debate the most appropriate approach to case-based problems related to major liver topics. To directly gain access to an internationally renowned faculty of top experts in the field of hepatology. For young doctors, the meeting will provide a stepping stone for them to make an early debut on the international stage. To grasp an opportunity for young aspirants to apply for a young investigator award and/or travel award. About KASL 2011 What is KASL?
