10. 10 Student Role Come to class each and every day with your reading book, reading/ writing notebook and Post –Its. Read for at least 150 minutes a week. Keep track of your reading (in school and at home) using your bookmark. Challenge yourself to read more pages and for longer periods of time.

11. 11 Student Role Take risks as a reader and writer; try new genres. Think as you read; jot down your noticings. Be prepared to discuss your thoughts about what you have read. Listen to and question other reader’s noticings and questions; give thoughtful, helpful responses. Apply the reading and writing strategies you have learned.
