1. 8 th grade Celebration @ UW HUB

2. What? June 14 th (our last full day) all eligible 8 th graders get to celebrate the end of middle school together. This year we are going on a class trip to the UW HUB.

3. Details  Tuesday, June 14 th  10 or less demerits keeps you eligible  Busses leave at 9am & return by 2pm  Price is $20.00 per person.  Your money covers the cost of:  Food & beverage  Most games  Photo booth

4. The Hub is… the game room and basement to the University of Washington’s common area. You will be on the UW campus, getting a small taste of college life while hanging out with 333 of your closest buddies and teachers

5. Bowling  12 lanes  6 students per lane  Shoes provided  Ball provided  YOU MUST BRING/WEAR socks if you plan to bowl!  1 game shifts

6. Ping-Pong  4 ping-pong tables  2-4 players per table  1 game shifts  Ball and paddles provided

7. Arcade Games  Bring Quarters if you want to do any of these  THIS IS THE ONLY ACTIVITY not PAID for!  1 game at a time  1 air hockey table  Old-school arcade games  Pac man  Pinball  Galaga  Deer Hunter

8. Photo Booth  We hired a professional photo booth to come!  -UP to 12 in a picture  -PROPS provided  -YOU GET 2 Strips of photos per shoot  -YOU GET THE LINK and PASSWORD to the online photos where you can download as many as you like for FREE! INSTAGRAM IT: #MMSHUB2016

9. Pool  11 pool tables  Don’t know how to play?  Your lovely teachers will offer lessons  2-4 players per tabl e

10. Gaming  20 video game console centers -Xbox One -Xbox 360 -Wii -PS3  Large quantity of video games to choose from  20 min time slots  You can set up competitions

11. Mingling & Hanging Out  Music playing throughout  A ton of tables to sit, talk and eat  You can sign yearbooks

12. Food  Subway  Pizza  Snacks  Drinks  ALL PROVIDED  ALL YOU CAN EAT * Remember to clean up after yourself! * If you have serious food concerns, please talk to your SDR teacher.

13. Photo Scavenger Hunt  Tour the UW Campus  Teams search for a list of things, places, etc.  Winners get a prize and bragging rights  Be outside!  For this one you will need to sign up with a team, in advance, and commit to spending about one hour of your time on the hunt. 14. Photo Hunt Sign-Up  If you are interested in a 1-hour adventure where you walk around the UW campus taking photos you need to sign up by May 20 th inside Mrs. Wright’s room.  There are limited spots, so first come, first serve. ONCE you are signed up, you are committed. Up to 6 people per tour group, so sign up with your friends!  The sign-ups are located IN MRS. WRIGHT’S ROOM. You sign-up for a time slot with your team and will be assigned a teacher chaperone later.  WHEN you sign-up you will also NEED to sign a behavior contract. Without this contract, you will not be allowed to participate.  IN SDR CLASSES, the week prior to the field trip you will receive further instructions!

15. Riding the Bus  Students may choose which bus they want to be on.  Sign-up will happen through science classes on May 31 st.  There will be 6 buses. Coordinate with your friends as to which bus you want to sign up for (Bus 1, Bus 2, etc.).  Students can only sign themselves up.  Any students not signed up by the end of the day will be assigned to a bus.  Bus rosters and teacher chaperones will be posted the week before the field trip. Keep an eye out!

16. So, now what?  Sign ups for Photo Hunt + Contract next week!  Permission slip due to your SDR teacher by Friday, May 20 th.  $20 due by Friday, May 20 th either in a check payable to Maywood Middle School and turned in to your SDR teacher or pay online via fees and fines tab!  Sign up for buses in science on May 31 st. * Note, we do offer financial scholarships for those in need.  More information to come in June!
