News since last meetings: Diamonds Diamonds: – tender for 20 a final stage, tech specs agreed, most documents prepared. 20 will be on our INFN budget this year, 3 diamonds already ordered by Katsuro (maybe one more). INFN budget application for 4 more. – A second 90 Sr beta source 5 MBq arrived and installed for tests – New diamond package fulfills the constraints, discussion has now shifted to cable path for PXD diamonds which require beam-pipe modifications – Patch panels in the DOCKS to be designed (location: outside the DOCKS, sharing for PXD-SVD, ) – Cable path and length Trieste - Sep. 10, 2015L.Vitale - VXD Workshop 3

4. News since last meetings: NTC NTC – New version of mechanical supports (have them here) – Support for L3-4 or directly glue? – Glue for filling gaps and fix sensors. Two procured: Dow Corning SE4445 from Atlas Genova-Bonn and TCOR (Luciano). 8. BEAST phase 1 installation status LV + Pietro Cristaudo (INFN tech.) Aug. 26 th - Sept. 3 rd As planned we installed: – 8 SMA-BNC connectors – 8 thin cables (3.5 m) with SMA – 4 diamonds with very short cables SMA And we measured electronic noise with: – AH501 pico-ammeter – CAEN PS – Portable PC (all in Rack #4) We also measured a signal with two 90 Sr sources (thanks to Hiro help) Later in November our colleagues will came to test the new readout Trieste - Sep. 10, 2015L.Vitale - VXD Workshop8

11. New design of shorter diamond package Trieste - Sep. 10, 2015L.Vitale - VXD Workshop11 The design was sent to Tscharlie to see if it fits the available space. The important point for him is that outside the diameter 47mm nothing must disturb the PXD, and it doesn’t. Then the easiest - he proposes - is to press cable and diamond package on the beampipe with a M1.4 screw. Next slides two sketches from Tscharlie with 2D and 3D processing for the cable channel of support on the Beampipe.
