12. AGV Battery Charging AGVs have several options when it comes to battery charging, manual, automatic, and opportunity. For a 24 hr. operation, manual battery change is often used, or you may use fast automatic/opportunity charging, to keep up with production, or add a few vehicles. For 8-16 hrs of operation or in systems with AGV idle locations automatic charging is very feasible. Battery type is selected for the actual operation, wet lead acid, maintenance free AGM, Lithium/Li-Ion or NiCad. The system battery and charging requirement is studied and the customer may participate in selecting the most feasible solution for the actual operation.
