3 I. Character Quote Matching (5 questions) *As you review major episodes, determine key characters & statements about larger issues. II. Comedy Ladder Scenarios (4 questions) *This time, these will pertain directly to the novel. Remember comedy of manners, comedy of ideas, farce and low comedy characteristics. III. Satire Matching (7-8 questions) *These will pertain to larger satirical topics (ex: religious hypocrisy). *You will also be provided with satirical cartoons that connect to the concepts.

4 IV. Novel Analysis (18-20 questions) *Consider impact of episodes on Huck’s conscience, portrayal of society, and meanings behind satirical examples. *This area will also contain questions that ask for more than one answer, so work on a strategy to help you choose. V. Cold-Reads (8-10 questions) *There are TWO of these, and adjoining questions related to both the piece and the novel. VI. Written Response (10pts) *You will be provided with THREE topics, from which you must choose ONE to write a fully organized, textual referenced, larger-message analyzed response. Please consider your short answers prior to this, and what you scored. Consider the comments you received and areas to work on.
