2 Schedule for the exhibition tour 1. Kemi Works in Kemi Art Museum in 10 th of December 2013 (wed 15 th or thu 16 th ) January – 16 th of Marchy 2014 (Storage in Kemi) 2. Luleå Works in Luleå in 9 th April 2014 19 th April – 1 sst June 2014 3. Karasjok Works in Karasjok in 10 th of June 2014 14 th of June – 24 th of August, 2014 4. Murmansk Works in Murmansk Art Museum in at least 7 th of September 2014 12 th September – 19 th October 2014 Tour 2014 KEMI – LULEÅ – KARASJOK - MURMANSK

3 Kemi Art Museum exhibition hall Height 9,5 m in higher part and 2,5 m in lower part There is storage room Konsthall exhibition hall 500m2, about 30 – 40 piece of works 5 m height Also sculptures and big works Sami Artist Center exhibition hall Exhibition rooms are 220 m2 + 120 m2 6 m to the ceiling in the larger gallery 4 m to the ceiling in the smaller Murmansk Art Museum exhibition hall About 360m2 One big room: can be divided into movable walls In 3 rd floor The size of the exhibition halls

4 How many artists/country and works/artists Every partner will select 4 artists from their area 3 works/artist Total 12 works/country 48 works for the touring exhibition. Each country can add they own works to the exhibition (National Beauties, regional point of view in every area) In Murmansk Art Museum there could be some changes for the number of artist if they don’t have so many artworks/artists.

5 The touring exhibition 48 WORKS KEMI LULEÅKARASJOK MURMANSK + National/Regional beauties 12 works To the touring exhibition selected only PAINTINGS (+ other two-dimensional work, such as graphic and textile works), SCULPTURES (+ other three-dimensional works) are the proportion of museums, National beauties exhibition

6 About the criteria’s of the selection of the artists: How active the artist have been in Barents area during the 1970-1980 Cooperation and exhibitions in Barents area The artist works depict the 70 and 80 time period and the art style All the museums will choose works from their own collections first so they don’t have to do any contracts with other parties.

7 Transportation & insurance Arts Council of Lapland takes care of the transportation of the exhibition in route: Kemi - Luleå - Karasjok – Murmansk They tender the logistics company and pay that. If the transportation of the route can be arranged at lower cost and money will be released, that money can be used to cover the museums transportation & insurance costs. Arts Council of Lapland and partner museums will take care of the documentation of the works related to the transport (Atacarnet).

8 The partner museums are responsible of the costs to transport works from home museum to 1st exhibition in Kemi Art Museum and from last exhibition in Murmansk Art Museum to the home museum. In addition museum partners are responsible of the exhibition insurance during the exhibition in their museum. Museums are also responsible of works packaging and building and dismantling of exhibition as well as any copyright costs.

9 There will be symposium and workshops connected to every exhibition. The documentation of the exhibition (have to discuss more)

10 Theme of the publication: Visual Art Cooperation in the Barents region in 1970 and 1980 What had happened during the period 70 -80 in partners area in Fine art What kind of was the cooperation in Barents region? Also other artists that have been active not only those that are in exhibition. Research and publication University of Lapland will coordinate research activities

11 Articles The articles should be 15-25 pages text + Images Articles in English, summary in own language The research publication with footnotes and references The researcher Jonna Katajamäki is writing the article in Finland. Bertil Sundsted in Sweden Jan-Erik Lundström in Norway Svetlana Romanova in Russia

12 The deadline for the ready articles is in 10 th of March 2014 when they have to send to Jonna. (jokataja@ulapland.fi)jokataja@ulapland.fi The publication will be published In last exhibition opening in 12.9.2014 Murmansk. The publication contains In general the article from some expert (Kari Laine) A short article about the museum (own chapter) Four acticles (Jonna, Bertil, Svetlana and Jan-Erik)

13 Symposiums and work shops University of Lapland is taking care of the symposiums The symposiums are connected to the opening week. Also artists speeches Open forum Themes will be discussed later Museums will organize and plan the workshops and other activities that are connected to the exhibition. These activities can be the same basic museum work that they normally do like guided tours etc.

14 For the next expert group meeting in Karasjok 26.2.2013: Everyone have to present preliminary article plan. Outline of the article what it is intended to contain (Sent to Anne week before the meeting) Everyone have to present artists and work selections (12) for the exhibition tour. This is important because Katja needs the work information's for the ATA Carnet and transportation.
