Once completed, you may begin your Command and Staff, Specialty Track, Leadership and Activities at any senior program level. You must complete Level III to attend Region Staff College (RSC) and be at least a major and completed RSC to attend National Staff College (NSC). Air University (AU) Professional Military Education (PME) courses have specific rank prerequisites. These Professional Courses require attendance, are offered at least once a year, and should be taken in sequence. You may take PME equivalents (SOS, ACSC, or AWC) through AU correspondence when you meet rank prerequisites. Specialty tracks vary in required completion times and requirements. Completion times range from 6 – 12 months. Some have online exams or AU courses. Some require additional courses or staff activity. Members should review the current Specialty Track Study Guide for their specific requirements. After Level I is completed, you may qualify for promotion to a different grade if you are or were a uniformed service member; former CAP cadet who earned the Mitchell, Earhart, or Spaatz Award; former senior member; FAA/FCC rated pilot, mechanic, communicator, or ground instructor; chaplain; character development officer; or a professional in the medical, education, finance or legal fields. See CAPR 35-5 for specific qualifications. CPPT is required of all cadets 18 years old or older, CAP Cadet Sponsor Members, and all Senior Members including prior CAP members re-joining after two years break in membership.
