3. On the northern coast of Ireland, the ruins of Dunluce Castle offer incredible views of the Atlantic Ocean. And the panorama drives home the medieval castle’s former value as a strategic defense outpost for Richard Óg de Burgh, aka The Red Earl, and his 13 th century army. For it was The Red Earl who first built up Dunluce as a livable space. Those with a keen eye and a taste for classic rock may recognize the stone keep from the album artwork inside Led Zeppelin’s “Houses of the Holy” album.
