12 THE ARCHITECTURE OF A POLYGON line segments: the sides of a polygon vertex: two sides meet to form an angle.

13 WHEN LINES OR SEGMENTS INTERSECT, THEY FORM ANGLES. An angle is an opening between line segments.

14 WE HAVE DIFFERENT NAMES FOR ANGLES DEPENDING ON HOW FAR THEY OPEN. Acute angle: less than a right angle (< 90°) Right angle: like a square corner (= 90°) Obtuse angle: opening is more than a right angle (> 90°) Straight angle: forms a straight line (= 180°)
