3. The USA is a very large country. It stretches from the Atlantic Ocean in the east to the Pacific in the west.

4. The USA is a federal republic made up of fifty states and the District of Columbia (where the capital Washington, D.C. is situated). It is the forth largest country in the world with about 260 million people.
