2 Executive Branch  The purpose of the Executive branch is to carry out the laws. President Vice President Cabinet

3 What do you know...  There are 14 cabinet positions  President Theodore Roosevelt gave the “White House” its name in 1901.  The President is responsible for appointing the cabinet.

4 LEGISLATIVE BRANCH  The purpose of the Legislative branch is to write the bills. Congress House of Representatives Senate

5 What do you know...  A representative serves 2 years.  The Constitution got started in 1787.  A bill has to go through the Congress to get to the President.

6 Judicial Branch  The purpose of the Judicial branch is to explain and apply the laws. Supreme Court

7 What do you know...  The Supreme Court was set up by the Constitution.  The Supreme Court building is in Washington D.C.  The Supreme Court was formed on February 2, 1790.
