Maths Summative Task (Ratio) Maths Summative Task (Ratio) Group Members: Alicia, Kelly, Boston, Josan

What you wonder about ratio, state the questions Boston How to find proportion in 2 different things.eg. 2 pencils and 3 erasers cost 15.000,if 4 erasers and 6 erasers cost 30.000 how much is 1 pencil? Josanda How to count the ratio if there have the total amount from the word problem and we don’t know the answer of the ration yet? Alicia Who found out about ratio? Kelly Do people really need ratio, what can people use it for?

The Original Recipe Fresh Honey Lemonade Ingredients 1 cup of fresh lemon juice ½ cup of honey 1½ cups of steaming water Ice cubes for serving Directions: In a bowl combine the honey and hot water and stir until the honey is dissolved. stir in the lemon juice. let cool for at least 10 minutes or cover and refrigerate until ready to serve. pour into ice-filled glasses.

The Problem Kelly RATIO CARD 1 Problem: Your group need to make 1 ½ recipe Ingredient: 1 cup of fresh lemon juice ½ cup of honey 1½ cups of steaming water :

Ratio Card 1 Problem: Make 1½ on the main ingredients 1 cup of fresh lemon juice (1x1½=1½) ½ cup of honey (½x1½=¾) 1½ cups of steaming water (1½x1½=2¼) Ice cubes for serving(eg. 16, 4 each glass) ( 16x1½=24)

Ratio Card 1 Problem: Make 1½ on the main ingredients 1 cup of fresh lemon juice (1x1½=1½) ½ cup of honey (½x1½=¾) 1½ cups of steaming water (1½x1½=2¼) Ice cubes for serving(eg. 16, 4 each glass) ( 16x1½=24)

The New Recipe ( based on the ration calculation) 1½cup of fresh lemon juice (750ml) ¾ cup of honey 2¼ cups of steaming water Ice cubes for serving

Ratio Card 2 BOSTON 1 cup of fresh lemon juice (1x1½=1½) ½ cup of honey (½x1½=¾) 1½ cups of steaming water (1½x1½=2¼) Ice cubes for serving(eg. 16, 4 each glass) ( 16x1½=24)

Ratio Card 2 JOSAN 1 cup of fresh lemon juice (1x1½=1½) ½ cup of honey (½x1½=¾) 1½ cups of steaming water (1½x1½=2¼) Ice cubes for serving(eg. 16, 4 each glass) ( 16x1½=24)

Ratio Card 2 KELLY 1 cup of fresh lemon juice (1x1½=1½) ½ cup of honey (½x1½=¾) 1½ cups of steaming water (1½x1½=2¼) Ice cubes for serving(eg. 16, 4 each glass) ( 16x1½=24)

Ratio Card 2 ALICIA 1 cup of fresh lemon juice (1x1½=1½) ½ cup of honey (½x1½=¾) 1½ cups of steaming water (1½x1½=2¼) Ice cubes for serving(eg. 16, 4 each glass) ( 16x1½=24)

Ratio Card 3 ALICIA Problem: If 1 recipe serves 4 people, how many recipes needed for the whole 6B and the whole PYP if 1 class consist of 20 students. Calculation: (a)=22/4=5½ (b)=19x20=380 380:4=95

Ratio Card 3 BOSTON Problem: If 1 recipe serves 4 people, how many recipes needed for the whole 6B and the whole PYP if 1 class consist of 20 students. Calculation: (a)=22/4=5½ (b)=19x20=380 380:4=95

Ratio Card 3 KELLY Problem: If 1 recipe serves 4 people, how many recipes needed for the whole 6B and the whole PYP if 1 class consist of 20 students. Calculation: (a)=22/4=5½ (b)=19x20=380 380:4=95

Ratio Card 3 JOSAN Problem: If 1 recipe serves 4 people, how many recipes needed for the whole 6B and the whole PYP if 1 class consist of 20 students. Calculation: (a)=22/4=5½ (b)=19x20=380 380:4=95

This is the result of our fresh lemonade. It turn out pretty brown for a lemonade, maybe because we put too much honey in it. It also taste pretty sour but atleast we tried to make it better.

Answering the Questions Boston Answer - yes using elimination but used in high school. example= 2x+3y=20 -2x+y=4 4y=24 y=6

Reflection

Alicia White Hat When we want to learn about ratio by making juice. We of course need to search for recipes in a website and also calculate the ratio there. We also add some more ingredients because of how our juice tasted. Black Hat The hard part while learning ratio is when converting the ratio and how we can know if our drink will taste nice or not.

Alicia Green Hat After drinking our own drink, i feel like we can add more honey and also to not put a lot of lemon in it so it won’t be really sour. We also can put more decorations and put some fruits in it to make it more interesting for people. Red Hat I am kind of sad that the taste doesn’t turn out how it supposed to taste but i'm also really proud of my group to atleast try to make the lemonade and also confident about it. The drink turn out to be really sour because we put too much lemon but we ran out of honey.

Alicia Yellow Hat By learning this, it can help us in the future and also can estimate the ingredients when we’re cooking so it will taste nice in the end. Blue Hat I learned how to convert the ingredients of the recipes and also guess the amount of ingredients that we need to make our drink better. Maybe next time, we can try to make our drink better by using the proper ingredient and also the amount.

Kelly Yellow Hat Learning about ratio can help us in the future. Blue Hat This unit we have learned about ratio, it might probably help us in the future or whenever we need to measure things.

Kelly White Hat When we learn about ratio we demonstrate it by making juice. We made a glass of fresh honey lemonade. We searched for easy recipes that we can make. Ratio is used to compare between 2 quantities. Black Hat The hard part while learning ratio is when converting the ratio and calculating some parts of the ratio.

Kelly Green Hat After drinking our drink, for me it taste really sour and we need to put less honey. Based on the teacher's suggestion we need to add fruits inside the drink so that it looks more interesting. Red Hat I feel a bit sad because it didn’t turn out they way as I expected and it taste really sour. In the same I also felt proud that we can make the drink and we all can cooperate well as a group during the process of making the juice.

Boston Yellow Hat: The good thing about learning ratio is that we can compare 2 different things and we can use it for our daily lives as an architect, money changer, and many others. Black Hat: The hard thing learning about ratio is when converting the units at the scale and when you use it in daily lives such as in recipes.

Boston White Hat: When learning ratio we need to search the recipes and we also added ingredients for the healthy drink. I know how to calculate ratio. Blue Hat : It may help us in the future when comparing and it can also be in our jobs in the future

Boston Red Hat: I feel interested and excited when learning about how to calculate the ratio and when measuring the ingredients. Green Hat After drinking the juice it tastes really sour and needs more water and sugar to make it taste better

Josanda Blue hat I have learned lot’s of stuff during learning about ratio, I have learned proportions, how to count money, perimeter, recipe and others. but only know rarely of it. Yellow hat In the ratio lesson, I did not really get what it is but i am good at measuring the height of people that appears in the word problem.

Josanda Black hat my weakness in ratio is plenty, it’s hard for me to count money, perimeter and I think there still lot’s of that i didn't know.
