3 Background – A new situation - Very much has happened in the area - New groups are interested - The existing course is 500 pages and 10 x 45 min video - Development is fast, not possible to follow everything in a book – it has a different purpose - New media are available

4 One or several courses? - Basic introductory course - A special course on quantitative methods – sustainability indicators etc - A special course on change and development processes - A special course on energy systems

5 Target groups – For whom? - University students, which background? - Municipalities, management - Companies, industries - Others

6 Which form? - Campus course - Distance course - Short version for seminars for busy people

7 Present course structure - Intro - Physical base - energy and materials - Two sectors - bio-production and manufacturing - Two sectors - transport and habitation - Societal base - economy and law/ethics - Implementation A21

8 Some principles GENERAL could be 15 ECTS (10 Nordic/Baltic credits) It builds on A Sustainable Baltic Region It should have many cases from the region material may consist of book, films, webpage etc. It should relevant to a very wide group LETS US REMEMBER THE AIM OF BUP To support the key role that universities play in a democratic, peaceful and sustainable development by: developing university courses participation in projects in cooperation with authorities, municipalities & others.
