1 Painting MICE Students are invited to take part in a design challenge - to design a large mural to go into the MICE (Muon Ionization and Cooling Experiment) Experimental Hall, which conveys the excitement of the project. Students will be invited to RAL to present their ideas to a panel of judges. The Key Stage 4/5 finalists will receive an expenses-paid trip to London to attend the public lecture (given by Prof. Brian Cox) at the international Neutrino conference, 6 July 2016. Younger finalists will visit RAL at a mutually agreed date. The winning design will be installed in the MICE Hall in the autumn of 2016. 2 Painting MICE Students are asked to design a large-scale “mural” that conveys the excitement of the MICE project – whether that is showing the big physics questions MICE is designed to help answer or the engineering challenges of MICE. The competition is open to teams of up to five students Entries should be sent to visitral@stfc.ac.uk in pdf or jpg format – wetransfer / dropbox / etc links will be accepted, but please send an additional email to let us know to expect the link, or the email with the entry may get lost in our spam filtervisitral@stfc.ac.uk Deadline for entries is 23:59 on 15 June 2016 For Key Stage 4/5 finalists, the trip to London will take place on Wednesday 6 and Thursday 7 July 2016. For younger students the trip to RAL will take place at a mutually agreed date.
