Political changes accompanied by demographic & social consequences.

New org’s for peace & cooperation (LofN, UN) Econ Institutions (IMF, WTO, World Bank) Humanitarian Org’s (WHO, UNICEF, Red Cross, Amnesty Internat’l) States, communities & individ’s became increasingly interdependent, a process facilitated by the growth of internat’l org’s.

6.3 New Conceptualizations of Global Economy, Society, & Culture People conceptualized society and culture in new ways: challenged old assumptions about race, class, gender, religion Used new technologies to spread reconfigured traditions. Popular and Consumer Culture became global.
