5 Subscribing To begin using the Digest, follow the “Subscribe” link located on the site’s main menu If you are already logged in as a subscriber, you will instead see “My Account” where you can access information pertaining to your Digest subscription

6 After familiarizing yourself with the price and terms, follow the “Subscribe Now” Button Like over 300,000 online merchants and many Fortune 500 companies, The Digest uses Authorize.net to ensure secure online credit card processing Customers may also subscribe by mail, by sending checks to: P.O. Box 642303 Chicago, IL 60664-2303 Subscribing

7 First, create your own personal username and password Second, provide your contact information Third, provide a method of payment via our secure payment center Finally, Click “Register” to become a member Subscribing

8 Logging In After subscribing, follow the “Login / Logout” link located on the site’s main menu Only one computer may be logged in at a time with a given username To ensure unfettered access, firms with multiple attorneys should provide each attorney with his or her own username

9 Logging In In the appropriate fields, input the username and password you created while subscribing If you subscribe by mailing a check, your username and password will be emailed to you on receipt of payment If you have misplaced your username or password, email the Digest for a replacement

10 The Cases You may access cases in the Illinois Divorce Digest database: By publication date By headline By the people involved By file type

11 The Cases Readers who prefer a hard copy of the Digest may visit the “Printable Archive” section The “Printable Archive” allows subscribers to access a Portable Document Format (PDF) version of all previous issues of the Digest A link to the PDF version of each new issue will be added to the “Printable Archive”, and at the foot of the “Current Issue” page

12 The Cases For the most recent cases, visit the “Current Issue” section The “Current Issue” page features a menu listing the most recent month’s publications Each article headline links directly to the corresponding article Each Judge’s name links to the corresponding profile At the bottom of the “Current Issue” page, there is a link to the printable version (PDF)

13 The Cases For past editions, visit the “Previous Issues” section The “Previous Issues” section is where you can access the Digest’s archive dating back to March, 2010 In this section, the articles are organized by when they were published This headlines in this section links directly to the cases, and the professionals’ names link to their profiles

14 The Cases The “Appellate Review” section provides updates on appellate treatment of the previously published trial court decisions In the “Appellate Review” section, the article on the original trial decision and a full PDF of the Appellate decision are available

15 The Cases The text of the case articles contain several features Judges’, attorneys’ and experts’ names are highlighted, and the text links to their corresponding profiles Often, the Digest will make the Judge’s entire opinion available with clearly labeled links in the article’s body The Digest includes citations to appellate decisions on which the trial judge relied in reaching his or her decision

16 The Profiles The professional profiles provided by the Illinois Divorce Digest are one of the most useful features of the site Judges’, attorneys’ and experts’ profiles are currently available on every case the Digest has reported on A full profile will include trial decisions in which the individual is featured, and background facts such as education and professional experience

17 The Profiles “Judicial Profiles” are a great source of information, often featuring biographies from the desks of the Judges themselves The catalogue of opinions in which the Judge has appeared in the Digest will offer a multi- dimensional view of the Judge’s propensities in a variety of cases Among other information, the “Judicial Profiles” include whether he/she was appointed or elected, and a listing of other courts in which he/she has sat

18 The Profiles “Expert Profiles” are a great source of information, often featuring information from the experts’ résumés or C.V.’s The “Expert Profiles” section includes many categories of expert witnesses, including forensic accountants, psychologists, and valuation specialists Among other information, the “Expert Profiles” include the expert’s educational background, credentials and licenses, where available

19 The Profiles “Attorney Profiles” are an additional source of information from the industry’s leading participants The “Attorney Profiles” are organized alphabetically, by the attorney’s last name Generally from the law firm’s website, the “Attorney Profiles” include the educational background, publications and seminars in which the attorneys participated
