What is the Human Genome Project?  The Human Genome Project was a 13 year long international project from 1990 to2003 with the aim of mapping out the entire ‘human genome’.  What did it discover?  20,500 genes in the human genome, 3 billion mononucleotides  “It's a history book - a narrative of the journey of our species through time.
