2 FACTS – Who we are? Family Advisory Committee (Temple Street) Established in 2012 Made up of - Parents (9), Advocacy Representatives (2) and Staff (4) Committee meets every 4 to 6 weeks Aim - Improve the patient and family experience. Contact email – FACTS@cuh.ieFACTS@cuh.ie

3 FACTS – What we do? Provide a forum for service users and staff Respond to questions about services and raise issues as appropriate Influence future service planning and development Suggest and involve in service improvements Provide information for parents To be the voice from parent/child perspective

8 FACTS - Examples of Work Feedback from parent perspective on many policies – example Parents accompanying children to Theatre, Code of behaviour, Visiting policy. Prices in canteen – Changes suggested by parents to Catering dept Isolation room signage – involvement in creating Refurbishment – example –Top Flat - parent input to group Patient experience surveys and Comment cards – ideas from parents Hygiene Audits – with Management team ( 5 visits to ward areas ) Transition to adult care – input to Framework Introduction of WiFi – Voice for parents - Minister Varadkar’s visit to hospital 2015 National documents – feedback New Children’s Hospital – input on planning group, branding, and voice of the Child
