3 2 Borut Eržen Border Management and Visa Competence Centre ‌‌‌ Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA)  The Border Management Programme in Central Asia (BOMCA) is one of the largest EU-UNDP assistance programmes in Central Asia. It is a complex, multifaceted programme, assisting five Central Asian countries – Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.  Duration : 2003-2014 BOMCA phase 1-8 2015-2017 BOMCA phase 9  Funding : 40 MIO million EUR (EU 90%, UNPD 10%)  Since 2004 BOMCA constructed, refurbished and/or equppied: 52 BCP/Outposts, 6 training centres for BG, 4 dormitories, 3 dog training centres and 3 veterinary units.  Over 3000 border officials were trained, 150 dog handlers  Provision of more than 200 vehicles and other equipment

11 10 Borut Eržen Border Management and Visa Competence Centre ‌‌‌ ICMPD in SURCAP: bilateral and national workshops and trainings Study visits to the EU MS on document security, special investigative techniques, anti-corruption, etc.; Workshops/trainings on specific aspects of border cooperation and management; Assistance in the development of the National Training Modules for the personnel of the border agencies of concerned states.

12 11 Borut Eržen Border Management and Visa Competence Centre ‌‌‌ Support to the creation of an electronic system of pre-arrival information exchange between the customs authorities of Belarus and Ukraine (PRINEX)  Region: points of customs control at the border between Belarus and Ukraine  Duration: 30 months (1 March 2013 - 31 August 2015)  Budget: 3,737,000 EUR (donor – the European Union) Overall objective  Facilitation of movement of goods and means of transport across the common borders of the Republic of Belarus and Ukraine, as well as in wider scope, between EU and CIS

17 16 Borut Eržen Border Management and Visa Competence Centre ‌‌‌ Programa Regional de Seguridad Fronteriza en América Central (SEFRO)  The project aims at supporting the Secretaria General de SICA and the member States of SICA in border security matters. It involves various activities related both to border security and to migration matters in general  Project activities include among others studies on Human Trafficking, IT connectivity and a Migration School as well as trainings and workshops on Migration related issues.  Two simultaneous projects with the value of approx. 800.000 EUR (EU funds via SG-SICA)  Duration: September 2013 - October 2014
