7 If not available when you initially complete FAFSA, you can go back once taxes are done and update the FAFSA using the IRS Data Retrieval Process Available February for 2016-17

8 o Student Aid Report (SAR) o Review it for accuracy o Corrections to FAFSA data may be made by using FAFSA on the Web (www.fafsa.gov)www.fafsa.gov o Expected Family Contribution (EFC) o Used to determine types of aid a student may be eligible to receive o Usually remains the same for each school

9 The U.S. Department of Education randomly selects students for the verification process Student must comply with institutional request for information Use either IRS Data Retrieval process, or must contact IRS to request a tax return transcript be sent at www.irs.gov or by calling 1-800-908-9946www.irs.gov

17 o Must be a WV resident o Must file a FAFSA before April 15 th o Awards range from $2,200 to $2,600 depending on the EFC. o The student must enroll full-time at an approved institution and demonstrate need o Students must have a 2.0 high school GPA to be eligible o Students are limited to 8 semesters o Students must maintain a 2.0 GPA and earn 24 credits each year to renew

19 Core Requirements o English – 4 credits o Mathematics – 4 credits o Social Sciences – 4 credits o Natural Sciences – 3 credits The core grade point average includes all core classes; grades are calculated using the county grading policy

20 3.0 GPA in the core and overall coursework 22 on the ACT (minimum of a 20 in each of the subject areas) or 1020 on the SAT (490 verbal & 480 Math) Writing sections NOT included Test scores must be attained from a single test date (no Super Scoring) June 4, 2016 last SAT date June 11, 2016 last ACT date

23 o Merit-based scholarship o March 1 application deadline o Application at www.cfwv.com o 3.0 overall GPA o Enrolled or accepted for enrollment full-time in an engineering, science or technology program (4-yr, 2-yr or certificate) o Maximum annual award amount is $3,000 o Requires student to work in the engineering, science or technology field in the State of WV one year for each year the scholarship is receive, otherwise the student must repay the award with interest
