5  Recruited Mexican workers to fill demand for agricultural labor

6  6 months prior to riots  1 Mex-Am teen found nearly dead  600 detained in response  Unjust trial convicted 22 Mex-Am teens (overturned years later)

7  June 1943, lasts several days  Mostly white servicemen targeted anyone wearing Zoot-Suit  Beatings, racial slurs, stripped of suits  Police arrest 500 Mex-Am  Filipino and AA youth attacked as well
