 The first solar cars made their appearance in the late 1970 ′ s. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the first completely powered solar car was developed in 1984 by Greg Johanson and Joel Davidson.

SSolar Power is efficient to the environment because it cuts down on fossil fuel which will not last forever and uses the suns energy which will never run out. Solar cells require very little maintenance, greatly because there are no moving parts that must be maintained. IIn unfamiliar locations, solar power may be a more realistic energy option than running large lengths of electrical wires to connect to a grid.

 Solar power is non-polluting. Unlike oil, solar power usage does not emit any greenhouse gases, nor does the acquisition of it harm ecosystems through spills or dredging. This is probably one of the primary advantages of solar power.  The energy and heat from the sun is free. Once solar panels or solar thermal collectors are set up, there are no electrical expenses necessary to power them.

 Solar Power doesn't work at night.  Solar Power is very expensive to build solar power stations, although the cost is coming down as technology improves. In the meantime, solar cells cost a great deal compared to the amount of electricity they'll produce in their lifetime.  Can be unreliable unless you're in a very sunny climate. In the United Kingdom, solar power isn't much use for high-power applications, as you need a large area of solar panels to get a decent amount of power.  However, technology has now reached the point where it can make a big difference to your home fuel bills..  In Thunderstorms and the thunder is continuing you could be outside and there would be no Power in your device.

TThe system avoids the normal look of a roof by its smooth and flat surface panel and exceeding in efficiency. This system avoids the danger of storage batteries by hooking directly into the electrical network, using net metering to drop your electric bill. If you produce more electricity than you use, it will be fed back into the electrical grid, causing your electric meter to run backwards aand you to get paid back for the energy you produced.

 KDDI is set to launch a solar-powered cellular phone in Japan sometime in the summer. The picture shown above is the solar-powered concept phone that will be developed by Sharp. According to KDDI, the phone will feature a big solar panel, which could provide up to 1 minute of talk time or 2 hours of standby time for 10 minutes of sunlight. KDDI is confident that this still unnamed solar-powered phone will on sales by June of 2009.
