4. Details, Examples, And Why It Is Important  Schizophrenia means a disorder characterized by unpredictable disturbances in thinking, mood, awareness, and behavior. Schizophrenics are rarely harmful to people. Some Schizophrenics develop irrational fears that someone or something controls their thoughts and wants to harm them.  A teenager drew a portrait of herself. There was no color and the picture made you feel depressed. The girl did not know what beauty was. Then she went to treatment and it was a true success. She drew herself again and it had color and you could tell she understood what beauty and life was.  This topic relates to the class because it shows awareness to the students that they may have it or someone they know may have Schizophrenia and if so we should help them get treatment; we shouldn't judge either.

5. Lucy Walden In my school a girl named Lucy Walden is a schizophrenic. She acts normal but on some days she talks to herself, and dresses really weird. Most people at my school do not know she is a schizophrenic, they think she is weird and no one seems to want to get to know her. This makes her mental health even worse. One day I went up to her to be her friend, she told me about her sickness and how it is hard to understand reality. I suggested treatment and she was considering it for a long time. She finally decided to go to treatment. A year later she came back. She told me that they gave her medicine to help her understand reality. Today Lucy and I are best friends and we get along very well.

6. What I feel about this topic I believe that there are more people with a disease than we realize. We either don’t know how to diagnose the disease, or we refuse to acknowledge that there are people with this sickness. As a society we need to be aware of people who has schizophrenia. Many schizophrenics believe that they are being haunted by people, monsters, FBI/CIA, aliens, etc…These people have an illusion of being someone else, at times they can become violet (rarely) other times passive almost like Dr. Jekal and Mr. Hyde scenario. Most Schizophrenic are distorted this is why they need to go to some type of institution or have some special care taking, We need to be alerted about this disease and not to judge them, but be a friend and help them.
