L. Marriott, MD, FACP, FACC Our goal is to assist you in achieving your best in the everyday delivery of Advanced Practice to your Cardiac Patients, and/or to prepare you for your respective Cardiovascular Certification Examinations. We would love to meet you at the Gaylord Palms Marriott in Orlando, Florida. 123 10 678 4 5 12 14151617 The ABCM fully realizes that to become one of the best Cardiac Caregivers, we must develop strong Intuitive Skills, and possess a Scientific Foundation of knowledge in Pathophysiology, Physiology, Psychology, Sociology, Epidemiology, and Behavioral Sciences, upon which to develop the “Art of Caring” for Cardiac Patients. And, though we would like to cover all of these areas in this Course, we have chosen to focus on the Essentials of Diagnosis and Treatment options for a host of Cardiac Diseases and Anomalies. And, at the same time, Provide Up-Dates of what’s new on the Horizon in Cardiology. This is a great opportunity to interact and network with your peers on a National level, who specialize in Cardiology, and with a very energized and knowledgeable Nationally recognized Faculty. You will also have the opportunity to validate your knowledge and skills in Clinical Cardiology by sitting for one of the Cardiovascular Board Certification Exams offered by the ABCM onsite, at the conclusion of this Course: CVNP-BC for Nurse Practitioners, or the CVRN-BC for Cardiac Nurses. Though this course was designed specifically for cardiac nurse practitioners, it is open to physician assistants, cardiac nurses and cardiovascular technicians should they want to attend an energizing advanced review of clinical cardiology. 9 11 13 Day 1: 8:00am 5:00pm Cardiovascular Assessment (history, physical- Including JVD, Correlating Heart Sounds to Valvular disorders, Lung Sounds) 12 Lead EKG ACS Metabolic Syndrome 1 HIV and Heart Disease 1 Hypertension - Dx including ambulatory BP monitoring and different treatment modalities Pulmonary Emboli - Dx and treatment Day 2: 8:00am 5:00pm Peripheral Vascular Disease Heart Failure - Medical and Surgical Treatment Modalities for Circulatory Failure Cardiomyopathy - types and treatment Endocarditis and Myocarditis Cor Pulmonale - Acute and Chronic Pulmonary hypertension
