20 For HKALE applicant: Applicants who are applying on the strength of HKALE results should normally possess the following: Grade E or above in AS Use of English and Chinese Language & Culture in HKALE; and Grade E or above in at least two AL subjects OR one AL subject plus two AS subjects (other than Use of English and Chinese Language & Culture) in HKALE; and at least one subject is from Chemistry, Physics or Biology at either AL or AS level. 21 Applicant who are applying on the Strength of non-HKDSE qualifications: Applicants who are Associate Degree (AD) or Higher Diploma (HD) students or graduates are eligible to apply. Their applications will be considered on individual merits. Year 3 Direct Admission Scheme: The applicants who are AD or HD graduates in relevant discipline (i.e. Physical Education or Sports-related disciplines), with a good GPA. The Hong Kong Institute of Education Bachelor of Science Education (Honours) in Sports Science Admission Requirements Applicants whose entrance qualification is obtained from an institution in a non-English speaking system should normally fulfil one of the following minimum English language proficiency requirements: Level 2 / Grade E or above in the HKCEE English Language (applicable to holders of Associate Degree / Higher Diploma qualification from a recognised local tertiary institution); or Grade E or above in AS Use of English in the HKALE; or a score of 550 or above in the paper- based TOEFL (213 or above in the computer-based, and 80 or above in the internet-based); or A minimum overall band of 6 in the academic version of IELTS; or Grade C or above in GCSE/GCE O-level English; or A score of 110 or above in JEE English language 2129 Oct 2015
