2 Reggio Emilia.....what? where?... Reggio Emilia is a city in Emilia- Romagna, in the north of Italy. It's located on the Via Emilia, between Parma and Modena Characteristics of the area: 525.000 inhabitants 58.000 companies (95% of them with less than 10 employees) 45 Communities (Municipalities)

18 Web-based services S.I.L.E.R (Employment Information System of Emilia Romagna) S.A.R.E. (Administrative Simplification Network) EUREKA! (graduates’ database)

19 SIL-ER (Employment Information System of Emilia Romagna) z It is a web based system in which all information about people looking for a job or having a job since 1997 are stocked. z It is engineered to receive the transmission of required communications (about hiring, termination, transformation and extension of employment) sent by SARE from companies to Employment Centres. z Other Public Services may be allowed to check informations about their users, entering S.I.L.E.R. archive by web.

20 S.A.R.E. (Administrative Simplification Network) The SARE service (Administrative Simplification Network) is a web based system, free of charge, engineered to facilitate and speed up the transmission of required communications (about hiring, termination, transformation and extension of employment) from companies to Employment Centres. The SARE allows employers to send (safely and acquiring proof of sending) all required communications relating to labour relations directly from their offices to the Employment Centres. From march 2008 ALL communications relating to labour relations are sent ONLY by SARE.

21 Since year 2004 the Province, in collaboration with the 21 high schools operating in our geographical area, makes available on its website: www.provincia.re.it /Eureka the database of Reggio Emilia graduates, which helps job matching between companies, seeking for personnel and young people who want to find a job, right after high school. 22 Law n. 68/99 “Disabled people’s right to work " Law 68/99 renewed the "Disabled people’s right to work “, promoting the actions and services for focused placement. To reach this aim, Reggio Emilia Province has a specialized Employment Centre and 6 “Local Boards” The “Local Boards", are groups of experts (located at the 6 Provincial Employment Centres) working to promote the employment of disabled and disadvantaged people, including the intermediation between the business needs and those of the workers.

25 EMPLOYMENT OF DISADVANTAGED PEOPLE ACTIVITIES use of a network of local services that support companies and persons deep evaluation of the disadvantaged person (limits and abilities) contacts and visits to the companies, in order to know their organization, to check the available and suitable workplaces for disabled people and to plan a customized work program mediation, in order to simplify the available jobs, often too complex for people with disability

26 ACTIVITIES counselling, promotion and sensitization activity in companies, addressed both to the employers and to the colleagues in order to favour the disadvantaged persons' placement tutoring on workplace/practice period supporting companies even after the placement EMPLOYMENT OF DISADVANTAGED PEOPLE
