Project completed safely, well on time and under budget, including procuring additional task orders. Project execution had several challenges associated with it besides the completion date: Access to all sites was very limited with access only via ATVs or four wheel drive articulated equipment. Some of the areas could only be accessed with wheel barrows for debris removal. Few of the sites could only be accessed via water with debris removal requiring barging operations. Approval and emergency authorization for use of temporary staging areas over 13- miles of beach front. Operations were conducted around the clock with two 12-hour shifts, seven days per week. Work force of over 500 personnel working this fast-paced mission to meet the completion milestone that covered 17 different villages with separate stakeholders, municipal governments and homeowner associations. Project included cap, closure, geosynthetic liner, clay cover, seeding, irrigation and erosion control. Confidential Client: 12,000 55 gallon drums of hazardous unused/offspec product in Oklahoma and Texas. Project included proper characterization, sampling, profiling, transportation and disposal of flammable oil field chemicals, down hole chemicals, drag reducers, corrosion inhibitors, surfactants, acids and treatment chemicals. Confidential Client: 6,000,000 pounds of M6 powder, M30 granules and extracted aluminum that was determined to be unstable and no longer usable for its original intended purpose. The material was stored at a former Army Ammunition Depot in Louisiana. Project included the DOT determination, waste characterization, proper sampling and analysis, repackaging to meet DOT specifications, transportation and disposal to various incinerators and open detonation facilities. Confidential Client: 15,000 tons of >50 PCB soils and debris from a public high school renovation project in New Jersey. Project included working effectively with the EPA and the EPA’s Emergency Rapid Response Contractor to locate the PCB plume, dig and stockpile the contaminated soils and debris, and successfully transports the waste via end dump to a local rail yard for transport to the RCRA/TSCA landfill located in Michigan.
