1 Routine Board Operations Briefing/Chiefs Report North Routt Fire Protection District Presented by Mike Swinsick January 14, 2014

2 Leadership/Communication Job Duty Classifications- Time Frame will begin in January Review with each staff how this will work. Issue the correct PPE to match Job Duty Classifications for each volunteer. Training Enhancements- Remainder of 2013 is scheduled, refining 2014 schedule. Adding EMT Class schedule and study session dates. Communication Texting and emailing info to volunteers.

3 Safety and Operability of Apparatus Repair Needs Identified and Planned AM 3-1- Brakes need replaced and rotors turned. Unknown location of leak in coolant system (only under acceleration) Will schedule service soon. Routine service completed. AM 3-3 – Intermittent electrical issues, drive-train issues, crew and patient safety issues due to age of unit. Scheduled for replacement by late February early March 2014. Routine service completed. BR 3-1 – Back in service. Runs great. BR 3-2 – Intermittent electrical issue for radios, drafting issues, foam system inoperable. Scheduled for decommissioning upon purchase of a Urban Interface Engine. Routine service needed.

4 Safety and Operability of Apparatus EN3-3- Mobile repair service scheduled TBD. Operator restrictions in place. Routine service completed, oil sample from transfer case sent in for analysis it came back normal. EN 3-4 - Routine Service completed. Restricted use SQ 3-1 – New tires on, work in progress installing equipment. ST 3-1 – In good working order. TE 3-1 - Needs routine service. TE 3-2 – Routine Service completed. Unit re-numbering is complete with RCC and staff. Will work on external numbering over the winter.

5 Incident Availability/Call Reporting See Image Trend Reports

6 Regulatory Compliance ISO Have online account registered. Need to update data. Continuing to review requirements to better understand what we need to have completed. Need to contact them and find out when our next inspection is due. Have a call place to rep in Aurora, waiting to hear back. OPEN BURNING Issued 262 permits since the beginning of October, Red Creek, Badger Meadows, Columbine, Pearl Lake and Seed House Road areas seem to have the most requests. Need to start on permit for 2014 for Dept. with CDHPE. Need to compile data for reporting to the state (CDHPE) 2014 AMBULANCE LICENSING Received new permit/licenses, posted them in each.

7 Personal Protection Equipment Assessment & Inventory Items need to be inventoried and loaded into Image Trend. Evaluate each vol’s needs based on interview information and personal observations. PPE for Job Duty Classifications Reassign PPE to individuals based on JDC. Purchasing Plan Beginning to compile list of needs. Pending grant award. Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) All units were service/tested on January 7 th. 6 units were taken back for repairs (warranty by mfr) 5 bottles were taken out of service ( 15yr time limit) Put 60 minute bottles into service before they expire 2019

8 Facilities Security, Cleaning, Utility Audits Security Western Security TBD Utilities A tracking system has been built (xls spread sheet) Data for past year needs to be collected and entered. TBD Develop plans based on collected data. TBD

9 IT Infrastructure (continued) Image Trend/Spillman Scott has been working on entering all past incident reports, all incident reports are entered form August to today. We are still working on entering the rest of the years calls. All personnel data has been entered. Update CEMSIS and NFIRS for year. Both entities need to be updated.

10 Grants NWRETAC Mini We received a grant for $2100 which will get us 2 backpacks with module kits and 2 Skedco basic rescue kits to go along with packs. Eric will make purchases and deliver to us. Items on order. Delivery TBD Engine Replacement State Energy Impact 50/50 Starting on request next week. Federal 2013 Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program 95/5 match Multiple programs per application Vehicles – requested $600k total Equipment – requested $95k total PPE – requested $38k total Closed Friday12/6/13 5pm EST No update yet
