18 Format & presentation - Basic rules (1) Nutrients must be set out in the order shown in the table In tabular format – Lack of space  linear format is also acceptable Energy in both kJ AND kcal Other nutrients in grams Info per 100g or 100ml of food “as sold” – Optionally a “per portion” column could be added – in this case number of portions should be also indicated in close proximity to the table – Maybe given per 100g or 100ml “as prepared” provided that detailed preparation instructions are given Salt instead of Sodium (salt = sodium x 2.5)

19 Format & presentation - Basic rules (2) Optional, in close proximity to the table where applicable – salt content is exclusively due to the presence of naturally occurring sodium – where the energy value or the amount of nutrient(s) is negligible, the information may be replaced by a statement such as ‘Contains negligible amounts of … ’
