7  Student Resource Time  A block every other day to get homework done, meet with teachers, seek remediation, make-up tests  A great opportunity for students to meet with teachers and bridge their learning gaps  Students are assigned a “home” SRT, but they can write passes to visit other teachers

8  Same process as CMS and St. Pat’s  More choices for lunch  More freedom to spend their account money on choices  Continuing to add more healthy choices  Can pay through an account or cash  Parents can access the acct. online through the Duneland website

9  Current phone numbers and emergency contacts  Records of vaccines students received over the summer  Tylenol and Ibuprofen consents must be signed on a yearly basis  Immunization waivers must be signed on a yearly basis.  Provide pertinent health information that may affect students during the course of their school day. Forms can be found under the Health Services tab on the DSC website.  All medications taken during the course of the school day must be dispensed from the clinic.

10  Discipline policy is outlined in the student handbook which the students will receive the first day of school  Philosophy: Ensure safety and eliminate distractions to the learning process  Goal: Teach students in order to avoid poor choices and behavior

12  Must enter through the Access Kiosk at Entrance 1  Raptor system  SRO on campus  Working relationship with local police  Hall monitors staffed every period

13  Attendance office takes all absence reporting  Call: 983-3731  Please call within 48 hours  Homework requests are taken through the attendance office

14  Textbook Rental is the course fees  Some courses have additional out of pocket expenses which are outlined in the course description  Additional items needed for class are carried in the bookstore  Gym uniforms are rented to students  The corporation does not accept debit/credit cards  One handbook is provided per student, additional handbooks are available at the bookstore for $5 each  Textbooks rotate on a six year rotation cycle

15  School Buses statistically are the safest vehicle on the American Highway  Students are expected to be seated and ride home safely without causing any distractions  Distractions or disruptions on the bus by students can cause real safety concerns  Families needing bus service should call Transportation to determine stops and times: 983-3615

18  To Participate in Athletics at CHS: ◦ Have a current physical form on file in the Athletic Office (physicals accepted after April 1 for fall sports) ◦ Have regular daily attendance at school ◦ Must pass five (5) full credit classes ◦ Have a positive attitude and good behavior  Note: All CHS students who participate in extracurricular activities are subject to the provisions of the Positive Life Program  Why participate in a CHS athletic program? ◦ To develop skills, interests, and talents beyond the classroom ◦ To experience being part of a team and perform at public events demonstrating one's skills and talents ◦ To apply what has been learned in the classroom ◦ To grow through competition

20  Check grades  Communicate with teachers  Set up accounts to receive weekly progress and attendance reports through email  If you do not have an account, you will receive one during registration  If you are a CMS parent and do not know your account information, contact CMS and they will provide one

21  Multiple computer labs  Mac Book, IPad, laptop carts available for teacher/student use  Advocate and promote teachers exploring various technology and using it in the classroom to best insure engagement and learning

22  Specific registration information will be forth- coming  Out-of-district and tuition transfer students must apply every year through the central office  After registration, CHS will be open for student visits and students can follow their schedule

23  Guidance: ◦ Career/College Planning ◦ Class Scheduling  Counseling: ◦ Emotional concerns ◦ Peer conflict resolution  CHS counselors are available throughout the school day

24  All freshman start on an Indiana Academic Honors Diploma  Sophomore year students have more freedom to choose electives  Choices are based on student progress and success  Specific diploma types are listed on the CHS website

25  Vocational decisions are made sophomore year  Competitive (G.P.A.)  CHS has a wide range of vocational opportunities (a list is on the CHS website)

To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment.
