3 Assessment Objective 2 The main task is to:
Plan and take part in a recruitment and selection process, which explains the self-regulatory, legal, social and ethical responsibilities considered in the recruitment process. Demonstrates this through a practical exercise including, the creation of a vacant position, the development of the key recruitment documentation and participation in a mock interview as part of the interview panel. ( 22 marks)

5 Assessment Objective 4 Make judgements, supported by coherent justification of the effectiveness of the selection process, evaluating ways in which it can be improved. Ideas are communicated in a coherent structure with consistent and appropriate use of technical terms. There are few errors in the accepted conventions of written communication (12 marks) This means you have to evaluate the whole recruitment process and write to a good standard of English.

TRY THIS REASON AS AN EXAMPLE Point: Provides a description of the job for a candidate Explain: Effects Links to help with the theory: Lesson on job descriptions/ Give class notes on job descriptions/discuss purpose etc. Must stress and give examples of PEE technique as this leads to mark band four.

Ideas are communicated using a logical structure with some appropriate use of technical terms. There are occasional errors in accepted conventions of written (7 - 9 marks) A judgement, supported by a coherent justification, of the effectiveness of the selection process, evaluating ways in Ideas are communicated in a coherent structure with consistent and appropriate use of technical terms. Salary/rate Write enough to sell the position – yes…even writing an advert will utilize your sales skills Use adjectives and adverbs Concentrate on the selling factors of the role.  i.e. new offices, great environment, culture, team, industry What are the benefits? Not just the fiscal benefits either, OK? Make it personable. Highlight to potential candidates what’s in it for them e.g. “Your well developed skills will be further developed…” Make it easy to apply – phone number/ address

Using the Waitrose Job Description and Person Specification come up with relevant questions for your Interview. Think carefully about the structure of the interview and explain the purpose of each question (why is it needed? What information do you hope to draw from the question? ) There are numerous websites with example interview questions on: Most interviews structured using predetermined list of questions including:- Questions relating to the job specification Questions relating to the person specification Information about the candidate’s previous experience and what they think they can bring to the job Use open ended questions to encourage the interviewee to talk. Ensure the candidate is given an opportunity to ask questions about the company and/or the job Check pupils questions are relevant.

You can compare the winning candidate with the unsuccessful candidates

Sex Discrimination, race relations acts, disability discrimination Need to look at this section in more detail.
