2 1 Agro and Food processing 49 Public, Private, Foreign and Cooperative banks in Chandigarh Total Banks 415 Branches of 49 banks have opened zero balance accounts under PMJDY Total Branches 2.28 lakh accounts have been opened under PMJDY Savings accounts before PMJDY were18.53 Lakh Total 21 Lakh savings accounts in Chandigarh for a population of 11 Lakh Total Accounts Opened 49778 persons enrolled under Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana 127389 persons enrolled under Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana 2800 persons enrolled under Atal Pension Yojna Insurance Coverage PMJDY target on one account per household completed within 7 months of launch Time Span Pradhan Mantri Jan Dan Yojna in Chandigarh

3 2 Awareness of Accidental Insurance Cover Agro and Food processing 1,27,389 persons enrolled for Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana Conducted 2 Town Hall meetings one for Mudra Yojana and the other for Atal PensionYojana attended. These were attended by 2000 Citizens Total 8 Camps in 31 wards of Chandigarh with enrolment of 3000+. Total five claims submitted out of which three have been settled

4 3 RuPay Card Activation Agro and Food processing Total of 1,02,725 RuPay cards activated out of 1,82,414 issued 53 camps were organized for activation and distribution of RuPay Card One road show for financial literacy More camps planned in the near future

6 5 Bank mitra Agro and Food processing 25 active Bank Mitras in Chandigarh SBI and PNB have appointed Bank Mitras 40,615 transactions worth Rs 30.28 Cr. in last three months by Bank Mitras 16 Micro ATMs are used by Bank Mitras for deposit and withdrawal to and from all Banks

7 6 Reduction of Zero Balance Account Agro and Food processing More than 2 lakh zero balance accounts have been opened in PMJDY More than 1,60,000 account holders have deposited money in accounts Total Rs 59 crore has been deposited in PMJDY accounts Banks motivate account holder to deposit through camps, letters & phone calls

13 12 Steps being taken for enhancing enrolment under PMJDY Agro and Food processing Special counters for enrolment under social security schemes to be set up in various public dealing offices like DC’s Office SDM’s Office, Estate Office, etc. Asha and Aanganwadi Workers to be enrolled Outsourcing Agencies be asked to compulsorily enroll their manpower under PMJDY Involving Labour Department for enrolment under PMJDY for the unorganized sector Awareness programmes Destitute women and widows be enrolled

14 13 For instance… Agro and Food processing A month ago, a woman died within 15 days of the death of her husband. Husband was beneficiary under Social Security Scheme. The legal heirs were the mother and daughter of the deceased couple and were not aware about insurance. This came to the fore at the time of settlement of accounts by the Bank. The Bank authorities processed the claim which will be paid to the legal heirs in a week’s time. Maid servant working at the residence of one of the bankers gifted with a policy under Suraksksha Bandhan Yojana. This provision can encourage middle class and upper middle class persons to help the persons who work for them.

16 15 Providing Digital Identity (DI) to Aadhar card holders is the backbone of the concept, where DI will act as an intermediary to build a transaction eco-system. Contact-free solutions will open the door to a host of new services. Digital Identity will be provided in the form of RFID/ NFC enabled devices that will be able to provide a ‘Smart-age’ experience. Immediate identity information and verification at Government and healthcare centers. Closed-loop wallets will ensure that cash remains within the system leading to a transparent and robust economy. Immediate payments are possible with closed-loop Wallets - a touchless solution. Providing a digital identity
