Invest in service transformation in the same way as for other parts of the NHS 4. Put in place a joint, coordinated approach to planning investment and implementing change in partnership with national community pharmacy bodies 5. Deliver the reforms required across the whole system, and in legislation, to enable community pharmacy to play its full role 5 ASKS We need firm commitment and action from Government and the NHS for pharmacy teams to make their contribution

April 2016 Principles - the PhIF should: be targeted at activities that facilitate the integration of community pharmacy into wider NHS systems and programmes be used to support new developments and not as an alternative or additional funding mechanism for existing programmes that have their own separate funding routes include some investment in evaluation, with the community pharmacy sector fully involved in the design and oversight of any evaluation work NHS England should commit to facilitating meaningful partnerships between community pharmacy and other organisations The PhIF must be invested strategically, in line with an agreed future vision and a plan for achieving it, with decision-making informed by those with greatest insight into how this can be delivered Slide 9 of 11 PHARMACY INTEGRATION FUND

April 2016 Slide 10 of 11 THE FORWARD VIEW FOR COMMUNITY PHARMACY Joint work with PSNC and other partners to demonstrate that: national community pharmacy bodies understand the Government’s, public’s and patients’ aspirations for health and care and have a clear, shared vision for how their sector can help ensure these are met the sector has credible and constructive ideas for how to achieve this over the medium-long term, while improving quality and efficiency in the short term and maintaining a thriving CP network that continues to generate wider economic and social value sector bodies and community pharmacy organisations are committed to working together, with Government and with other partners to develop and implement tangible plans for turning these ideas into reality
