1 Fractions – Lowest Terms It is common in the world of work to speak of fractions in lowest terms. You don’t say I have 4 / 8 of a foot…it is 1 / 2 of a foot. Therefore, we need a method to reduce these fractions when it is possible to do so.

2 Fractions – Lowest Terms It is common in the world of work to speak of fractions in lowest terms. You don’t say I have 4 / 8 of a foot…it is 1 / 2 of a foot. Therefore, we need a method to reduce these fractions when it is possible to do so. The nice thing about fractions as we have seen is you can multiply or divide the numerator and denominator by anything you want, as long as you do the same to both. To get fractions into lowest terms, you need to be able to divide both the numerator and denominator by the same factor.
