2 Telephoning Adverbs Present perfect continuous Word formation

3 P102: *Homeless: ( Adjective) people who have no home. *Income: ( Noun) the money you receive regularly as payment for your work. P105: *Invention: ( Noun) a thing that has been made or designed by somebody for the first time. *To invent (verb) *Mystery (Noun) the quality of being strange and difficult to explain P106: *Salary: ( Noun ) the money you receive (usually every month) for the work you have done. *Plumber( Noun ) a person whose job is to put in or repair water pipes, baths, toilets, etc. *To fetch: (verb) to go back to a place and bring back something to somebody.

4 *To advertise:(verb) to announce a product, a service, etc in public media of communication in order to induce people to buy or use it. P107 *Cottage:(Noun) a very small and usually old house, especially in the countryside. *Tin: (Noun) a closed metal container in which food, paint, etc is stored and sold. *Pension: (Noun) money that is paid regularly by a government or company to somebody who has stopped working (retired) or who cannot work (ill) *Barter (verb) to exchange goods, services, property, etc, without using money. *To chase(verb) the act of following somebody / something in order to catch them or it. *Deer ( Noun) an animal with long legs, that eats grass, leaves, etc and can run fast. *Visibility (Noun) the ability to see something

5 We use the Present Perfect Continuous to show that something started in the past and has continued up until now. "For five minutes," "for two weeks," and "since Tuesday" are all durations which can be used with the Present Perfect Continuous.

6 Present Perfect Continuous Examples: She has been working on this project for three years. She is tired. She has been working all day. They have been studying since 5 o’clock. Form: Have/has been + v+ ing

7 Question : Examples: How long have you been living here? How long have you been working as an engineer? How long have you been using this book? Form: How long+ have+ subject + been+ v+ing

8 He Has been preparing the cake. It has been raining a lot. He has been playing all day. He has been studying for long hours.
