12 Virginia Data Center Sales & Use Tax Exemptions Make a new capital investment of at least $150 million Create 50 new jobs The jobs must pay at least one and one-half times the prevailing average wage for the locality in which it locates Colocation data center facilities may aggregate the capital investment and new job requirements among the data center owner and its tenants in order to meet the thresholds..

Targeted Status is awarded at the discretion of the Department of Economic Development and the Board of County Supervisors based on board-adopted eligibility guidelines. Fast-Track Permitting for Targeted Projects Reduced Site Fees 50% reduction in site fees available for eligible projects. Fast-track permitting Priority status ensures site plan and building plan reviews are expedited.
