Tips for First Year Success Attend class and take good notes Keep up to date Plan your time carefully Create study groups – remember to blend study methods! Take advantage of Learning Centers in Math, Chemistry, Physics, and Computer Science (CLC) and the Engineering Librarians See your professors and teaching assistants when you need help (early in the quarter!) Get involved in the University, College of Engineering, and your department Eat, sleep, exercise…and see your Academic Advisor!

Your Academic Advisor What we do for you Assist with academic planning and course selection for freshman and sophomore years Be available to you (e-mail, regular office hours, etc.) Discuss your academic goals and performance Refer you to support services Clarify policies, procedures, and regulations Rule of thumb: Try to meet with your advisor at least once per academic term

If you successfully finish each class, you will be able to start “on track” in that sequence in the Fall Term. Successful completion of MATH 050 will allow you to take Calculus I (MATH 121) in the Fall Term. Successful completion of CHEM 050 will allow you to take Chemistry I (CHEM 101) in the Fall Term. Successful completion of PHYS 050 will excuse you from Physics Prep (PHYS 100) in the Fall Term and enable you to take Physics I (PHYS 101) in the Winter Term. AP and Transfer Credits AP scores: AP e-mails are sent in mid-July You will need to let us know if you do not wish to accept credit Drexel accepts scores of 4 or 5; class credit offered depends on the test you took Your Fall Term schedule may be adjusted depending on what credit you receive Transfer credit: If you earned college credit previously, please send an original transcript to our office If you have already sent your transcript, we will be in contact with further information IB or A Level: If you have taken IB or A Level exams, please contact your advisor
