1 5.2 Notes  The eye works a lot like a camera. It takes in light and focuses it to create an image. The image is then sent to your brain, where the picture is “developed.”  Tips to take care of your eyes: Make sure you have enough light when watching television or reading a book. 4 5.2 Notes  optic nerve - a bundle of nerve fibers that sends messages to the brain, which interprets them  sclera – the white of the eye, it covers and protect the whole eye except the front  cornea –the clear section that lets in light at the front of the eye  iris –the colored part of the eye, it controls the size of the pupil  pupil –the dark opening in the center of the iris, it grows larger in dim light and smaller in bright light, so that the right amount of light enters the eye  lens –focuses the light on the retina  retina – the light-sensing part of the inner eye
