2 Introduction Have you ever wondered what it would be like if doughnuts fell from the sky? …It could be really messy! We are going to read a story about people who eat food that falls from the sky until one day, things start to go wrong…

4 Before reading Have you ever wondered how weather affects us? Do we have to change the way we do things because of the weather? In this book, people’s lives are VERY different from our lives because of their unusual weather. While reading the story, think about how their lives are different because of the weather.

5 Before reading Look at the cover and the pictures in the book. What do you think will happen in this story? Print out and write your predictions here. Later, we will find out if your predictions are correct!here

6 During reading While we are reading the story, look at your prediction chart. Did your predictions come true? Draw a star next to a prediction that was correct. Write down what really happened in the story on your prediction chart.

7 After reading The people of Chewandswallow had some wild weather! If you lived there, what would be the good things about Chewandswallow? What would be bad about living there? Click on the rain cloud to print and write about this!
