2.  There are four main types of energy uses in Canada, and they are: oil, natural gas, coal, & hydro.  Other energy sources that Canada use are: wood, wind, solar, and nuclear.

3.  Fossil Fuels is when any mineral can be burnt to produce energy.  For example, coal is considered a fossil fuel.  Fossil Fuels are a source of energy that is non-renewable. It is not renewable because, to produce the energy from fossil fuels they must be burnt to the ashes, and if its burnt down to ashes, its useless. Also it is not a supply that we will have forever.

4.  Hydrocarbon is where there are a number of different organic compounds such as benzene and methane, that contain only carbon and hydrogen

6.  The Alberta Oil Sands is a project of oil extraction from the sands. Alberta is ranked third in terms of proven oil reserve.  The oil sands cover an area of 54,152 square kilometres, and is estimated to contain over 1.8 trillion barrels of oil.  When they extract the oil, sometimes they must dig 10 stories down!

7.  The health conditions in the sands are very poor, but lots of people take the job because they get paid good money.  In 2010, Alberta produced 170.8 billion barrels. 99% of these barrels came from the Alberta Oil Sands.
