2.  The SPSA has been developed by all stakeholders at AVHS. The SPSA outlines the strategies and instructional practices that the school will establish to assist students in their achievement toward proficiency of the standards.  The SPSA is approved by the Board of Education every February.

3. 1. Increase student achievement in reading/writing (ELA). 2. Increase Student Achievement in Math. 3. Improve the achievement of EL students. 4. Develop/strengthen learning communities among students, parents/community members, and school staff to support increased student achievement.

4.  During AVHS’s WASC visit, although the school received high marks and a full 6 year accreditation, the visiting committee recommended these four goals.  The SSC approved this SPSA last year.  The Leadership Team met and approved the SPSA last year as well.

5.  3 times a year, the Leadership Team reviews data to isolate trends that show progress and identify potential areas for adjustment or correction.  Annual review of the GATE process by district.  SSC presentation, review, and recommendations.  Office of Accountability reviews the SPSA.  Board of Education approval.
