Community Service V.I.P. Fishing (Visually impaired person) By: Ginger Shackelford

What was the problem? What would the problem be if the solution was for high school students to go fishing with the blind? → Visually impaired people need to have someone by their side at all times, so of course these people enjoyed having different people to spend time with, and fish!

How did I help? What did I do to help out? → I fished with a lady named “Bessie” and she just loved to fish, but had never caught two fish at one time and she told me that if she had a catch like that, she would be satisfied! Luckily enough, that’s just what Bessie did.

What did I learn? What did I learn from the experience? → I learned to be grateful for what I have, a lot of the times I take things for granted, such as eyesight.

Was the activity worthwhile? What made my trip worth going? → Seeing Bessie smile, laugh, and listening to her stories defiantly made the trip worthwhile, I would do it again tomorrow if I got the chance!
