2 I am going to talk about learning apps and the advantages and disadvantages of learning apps. I an also going to show you the reviews and features.  The first one I am going to talk about is babble, where you learn different languages.

3  What is a learning App?  A learning app is an app that teaches a range of ages in the safety of their home or out and about.  What app are you going to discuss?  In am going to discuss the learning app Babble.  What category does it fall under (augmented reality, navigation, to give information etc)  It is an app that gives information.

4 The advantages of getting a learning apps is that they are normally free you can get basic and advanced vocabulary at home and on- the-go: there are many different things you can use it to study vocabulary with interactive exercises, it would deepen your knowledge and practice your pronunciation...Here are some things that are found on the babble website… ★ 3000 vocabulary words with images, pronunciation and sentence examples* ★ Intelligent review manager ★ Integrated speech recognition for pronunciation exercises ★ Offline mode ★ Basic and Advanced Vocabulary: French ★ Vocabulary trainer for beginners and advanced learners ★ Numerous themes ★ Free app ★ Optimized for tablets

5  There are very few disadvantages of the learning apps. I think that the size of the gadget is also a disadvantage. The fact that if you have lets say you are using a phone, the screen is so small and they can be easily lost or stolen.  Moreover, the essential part phone is the screen it is small and it can strain the eyes of those who use it for a long period of time.  On a screen that is that small, it can only holds a small amount of information that can be displayed.  The battery life is also an issue with transportable devices such as tablets or phones. As an example most gadgets in this generation have only a few hours of productivity. Once the battery runs out, the student will have to plug it in for recharging. Mobile learning is then no longer mobile.

7 Babble features of that babble gives… The mobile vocabulary trainer… Make the most out of travel and waiting time : with babble mobile you can study vocabulary even on your smartphone or tablet. 8  Before you begin you have to go through a couple of questions, what stage are you at; beginner or advance. And then it askes you your age( or the nearest age you are). This will help them to see what and where you need to begin- what levels and how hard the questions are go be.

9 A real life picture, gives you a real life situation ( you can relate to it. Multiple choice- make you think about the answer Bright colours- friendly and enthusiastic A language you can understand – then choose the what you think the right answer is in the other language

10 You can have your own account, this will be helpful if you are a regular user. You know if it is right answer if it flashes green. You get different levels- gets harder- you can challenge yourself… If you click on the pic if has someone reads it out this helps if you cant read properly or need to hear the accent.

11 From the last two slide you can see that for this app you will require speakers, internet access, room to download files. It doesn’t matter if you dont have a camera on your tablet or phone. On online, on your computer, mobile :There are multiple ways to use babble so you can learn on the go or in your in between time. First, babble.com is a multimeadia website that can be accessed from any computer with internet. Then with babble mobile, you can learn anywhere on your iPhone, ipad or i-pad touch.

13  The purpose of this app is to help people particularly tourists, to find and get information about different places such as attractions, restaurants, hotels, or suggested sites.  Its aimed at 10+  Its made to be easy to use.

14  The colours need to be able to engage all age groups  The photos need to be clear and interesting to catch peoples eyes  It should use common images or icons to indicate menus and choices  Help options should be available with easy to understand instructions and step by step.

Simply Check In, take a photo and add a note for each location, and your journal and travel album will be created for you automatically. You can share it with friends and family on Facebook, or just use it to remember your trip. And, you can even Check In while you are offline and share later when you are online. With this app you can easily search any way you want, and find exactly what’s best for you and your travel companions. POINT ME THERE Once you have selected a restaurant or attraction, this app will guide you there using the fun & useful “Point Me There” screen, which uses the phone’s GPS and Compass. CITY FACTS Written by Trip Advisor members and edited by professionals, City Facts articles provide helpful information for when you plan your trip, such as when to go, how to get around in the city, what neighborhoods to visit, etc. GPS-BASED This app leverages the GPS in the phone to show you the best restaurant, attractions etc nearby. The app also uses the compass to guide you to a place once you selected it

19  Uses the internet to get information to show you the route to your destination  Shows you the reviews for the place that you want to go, as an example, hotel reviews, flights, ratings opening times, closing times, numbers to call, contact details, costs of your travel or destination.  Gprs- so it knows where you are or the place is  It has a swipe screen – for easy and quick use

20 Shows where you are if you are lost. Loads of different choices – depending what you want. Uses popular icons for people that might not read very well.
