Betrayal and the Search for Redemption, The Love and Tension Between Fathers and Children, Memory and the Past, Politics and Society 2. As a group, look back through chapters 1 and 2 and find one quote that shows one of the thematic ideas on the list. 3. Write the quote, page #, and context on your paper, add the names of the people in the group, and hang it up.

Read  Take out your essay prompt – remember to note any quotes that seem to prove your prompt (use it on a quote card for HW #1) or that show your thematic idea (see board).  Your group thematic idea will count as part of your group project grade for this quarter. If you have 15 quotes by the end of the book that all represent your thematic idea and have the context explained, each person will receive full credit.  Read Chapter 3 (page 12-23). 3. Log #1  Your group will be assigned to one of the three characters on your chart. Criteria for Success: 1. Read closely the passages about your group’s character. 2.Fill in each section of your chart as follows: what each passage reveals about your character, how each character is related to each other, and which ethnic group and Muslim sect each belongs to. 3.
